Volunteering Recruiting for 2020; Elite, Development, Social Players – Men, Women, Juniors

South West United Hockey Club – Posted by South West United Hockey Club Anywhere

Job Description

South West United Hockey Club is an ambitious and highly motivated club based in the western suburbs of Brisbane, QLD, Australia. We are a club of over 250 members. We have a strong athletic development focus. We cater for men’s and women’s hockey, juniors and seniors. We are welcoming new members for the 2020 season across all areas of the club, particularly elite minded female athletes. Opportunity is knocking for this type of athlete.

In 2019 we re-entered the Brisbane Women’s Hockey Association’s Division 1 competition for the first time in almost 20 years. As well as looking for new players across all sections of the club, we are looking for motivated female athletes desiring to test themselves within Brisbane’s Division 1 league, one of Australia’s premier female hockey competitions. New athletes will be entering an environment full of athletes with drive and focus, all wanting to step up to new levels of performance, all wanting to maximise their individual potential and that of the team, and all wanting to be part of a club that’s moving onward and upward.

So are you wanting to be part of something progressive? Do you want to be part of a club with a big picture plan that will benefit all of our members as well as our local communities? If you’re looking at shifting clubs within Brisbane, or you’re new to Brisbane, or you’re currently overseas weighing up an option to travel and play some hockey, we would love to hear from you. Our season runs from March to September. Our pre-season starts officially in January however we do get together from as early as November for some low key hockey fun. We also field indoor hockey teams during the off-season.

From January our elite levels train twice per week. If you need help with finding work or accommodation, our club represents a large community so we may be able to assist. We love a good social event at our club too so you’ll make new friends fast. And for those new to Brisbane, you’ll find the Brisbane lifestyle second to none with stacks to see and do.
