Queensland Coaches find New Hockey Challenges

Former Hockey Queensland Regional Coaching Directors Sharyn Simpson & Margaret Dilger found exiting new Hockey Coaching Jobs aboard, thanks to Recruitment 4 Hockey.

SharonWC Eagles was pleased to announce the new addition in former Queensland Regional Coaching Director Sharyn Simpson to their coaching staff for a 3 year contract.

For the last 15 years Sharyn has been Director of Coaching for the Brisbane Women’s Hockey Association in Queensland where she was responsible for the representative team programs, player development, and coach education with remarkable success. Also coaching Queensland State teams Sharyn won Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals at the Under 15, Under 18, and Under 21 Australia National Championships. Most recently her Queensland Under 18 team were crowned the Australia National Champions in 2012 after which she received the coveted Hockey Queensland State Coach of the Year Award.

One of the top clubs in the US, WC Eagles’ Director of Coaching Jun Kentwell commented “We are extremely pleased that Sharyn is joining WC Eagles. It is important that we continue to expose our players to the very best coaches and Sharyn is going to bring another dimension to the club through her broad experience and depth of knowledge. She is an excellent teacher and coach. Our players will undoubtedly flourish under her guidance.”

MargaretThe Board of Auckland Hockey is delighted to announce the appointment of Margaret Dilger to the role of Lead Coach for Auckland.  Margaret’s appointment follows an extensive search and robust interview process.

In addition to her player-coaching, Margaret was Regional Coaching director at Townsville Hockey Association where she designed and oversaw training programs for U13 to AHL teams and athletes and monitored training programs.  Amongst Margaret’s numerous awards she was named ‘Hockey Queensland Coach of the Year’ 5 times.

On completing the reference checking for Auckland Hockey Barry Dancer (Hockey NZ Acting High Performance manager) reported ‘The feedback was extremely positive.  Margaret has been able to work extremely effectively with local, regional, and national teams, coaches and athletes and is held in high regard in Australia.’
