Job Description


Brooklands compete in the English Hockey Premier League. The highest level of club competition in England and have done so since 2013. We have recently had our facilities upgraded to an FIH Standard Greenfields Synthetic Waterbased pitch and are fortunate to have a modern clubhouse on site.

The coaching is led by Mark Bateman, Director of Hockey and Mens 1st XI Head Coach. Mark currently combines his role with that of Head Coach to the England u16 Boys and Assistant to England U21 Men/ GB Development Squad.

The role would suit players looking to further their hockey in another country with access to a personilised S and C programme, Full Clinic Based Physiotherapy treatment and enhanced Performance Analysis as well as open access to the facilities for your own additional training.

The roles are split 50/50 across being an overseas / professional player as well as delivering inspirational coaching sessions within the clubs network of coaching contracts. This varies from Clubs and Schools to Universities and Holiday Camps and applicants will be expected to deliver to an exceptionally high standard, setting up good practice design and adhering to the clubs code of conduct, ethics and operating standards.

The positions requires the applicant to have a recognised National Coaching Qualification from either the UK or their own home nation or be willing to undertake one at their own expense upon arrival, hold a valid coaching insurance and they will be expected to undergo an enhanced Criminal Records DBS Check.

The package available usually consists of:
• 1 Return Flight
• Accommodation based at the clubs flat next to the Sports Club
• Free Playing and Training Kit
• Monthly wage for coaching in the region of £650-750 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
