Full-Time Head Coach
Bromley and Beckenham Hockey Club are looking for an experienced and committed coach to move the whole club to the next level. This includes supporting our 1st Teams, Club Coaching, Community Development and Junior Coaching.
BromBeck HC is one of the oldest and proudest hockey clubs in the UK, following the merger at the start of the 2005/6 season, we have been a consistently high performing club. We have aspirations for both our Men’s and Ladies 1st teams to be consistent performing at this level. We have 9 adult men’s and 6 adult ladies teams. We are a very sociable club with an active events programme.
We also have a strong junior section with over 300 members. They compete at all ages from U8 to U18, with the boys winning national titles indoors and outdoors in the recent years.
The Club Head Coach will be have a number of core responsibilities:
– ensuring the high performance of the Ladies 1st Team, supporting the Ladies 2nd Team
– supporting the development of High Performance Juniors
– supporting the development of our Mens 1s coach and other paid / volunteer coaches
– delivering our in to schools programme
– supporting the development of all our club players
The Ladies 1st team coach will be expected to deliver enjoyable and productive midweek training sessions for the Ladies 1st and Ladies 2nd team. Bringing fresh ideas to these sessions that develop the areas required to improve performance based on weekend analysis. You will be expected to all home games and travel with the team to away games.
You will also be expected to support our junior training programme one evening a week (usually before training) and support our Sunday training programme on a regular basis.
You will need to have strong interpersonal skills to work with a team that has been established for a number of years. You also be expected to help with recruitment.
Throughout the rest of your sessions you will be expected to deliver high quality, engaging and technically strong sessions.
You will be allocated time for admin, session preparation and coach development. You will be expected to work closely with your line manager on a regular basis to ensure your workload has the correct balance.
Required: England Hockey Coach Qualification (or Level 2 equivalent). DBS checks, first aid training and child protection training will need to be undertaken.
Desired: England Hockey Advanced Coach Programme (or Level 3 equivalent), other relevant qualifications.
Remuneration: up to £35,000, based on experience (based on 45 hours a week in season and a reduced workload in the off season), plus performance bonus and expenses, other benefits (including accommodation) are negotiable. Remuneration will depend on the experience of the applicant.
