Cairns Hockey requires an enthusiastic, passionate person who will bring skills and experience to advance Cairns Hockey in a restructured Operations Manager role.
This person will manage overall office and general operation services including facility and food and beverage services of Cairns Hockey and is responsible for the effective and successful management of office, facility, events, labour, productivity, quality control and safety and risk measures across Cairns Hockey.
This person will be expected to enhance the operational procedures, information flow with internal and external stakeholders, business processes, opportunities to expand revenue streams, and carry out supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities may include assisting with selection and hiring of staff; training new and existing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; and general employee management. The role also involves assisting in the organising of program/facility budgets with the Board and staff.
A focus will be on efficiency in service delivery across facility, food and beverage and communication services with a high level of quality assurance included.
The successful applicant will require extensive experience and understanding of working in not for profit organizations. An understanding of the regional sporting culture is essential, and recognition of the needs of the sport of hockey is desirable. Strong financial management is crucial.
Ensuring you are a team player will provide you with an advantage. This role requires a reliance on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of tasks. Proven leadership skills will be essential. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. This role reports to the Board, and directly manages a number of operational staff.
Flexible working conditions and salary can be negotiated with the successful applicant.
