Community Female Junior Hockey Coach and Player
Grange hockey club are seeking a female player and Junior Section Coach to provide coaching, umpiring and team management to our club Junior Hockey section.
The ladies 1XI were promoted to the first division in Scotland at the end of last season. We are now looking to add to our team with a player committed to joining a social team looking to succeed and develop.
We require an applicant who can coach at any U12, U14 U16 (boys and girls) training sessions. Junior Section Coaches are expected to be able to lead small groups (10-15) under supervision of head coach and to input into session plans. Applicants should be able to umpire/manage any junior section teams (U10 – U18) as required by Junior Section Head Coach. Such duties will be required in full season (Sept to April inclusive).
In return for fulfilling such duties the package will offered will include travel costs, suitable accommodation with other junior section coaches. Monthly rental costs (excluding utility costs) will be deducted from monthly coaching income.
Typical weekly coaching hours or Grange Juniors:
Monday 18.30 – 21.00
Wednesday 18.30 – 20.30
Sunday – typically we play junior matches on Sundays – will vary week by week but typically up to 4/5 hours work on 3 Sundays per month
Ladies 1st team training is Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
A typical month would earn approx 36 hours @ £20/hour = £720. For overseas players, the typical rental cost would be £400/month leaving approx £320 month. Work for schools could be up to £300/£400 per month (mainly afternoon work – depends on school requirements).
We are seeking a player/coach for the upcoming season and therefore we would require applicants to be available to join our club from August 2017.
