Hockey Australia seeks to appoint; Coordinator – High Performance Unit, to work within the High-Performance unit under the direction of the Manager High Performance, to assist with the coordination and implementation of the National High-Performance Unit.

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Manager High Performance, the role will be responsible for the delivery of high level coordination and administrative support to the Manager High Performance, Head Coaches, Support Staff and Athletes in the National Men’s and Women’s Hockey programs. The right candidate will require a strong understanding of a high performing working environment.

This position is full time, with standard working hours Monday to Friday, however some flexibility will be required due to nature of working within a National Sporting Organisation and may require some out of hours and weekend work.

Position reports to:     Manager High Performance Unit

Internal Relationships

HA High Performance Director; HA Coaches, Manager Performance & Planning, Manager PA & HP Systems, HA Support Services Staff, HA HP Staff, Athletes, Administrators

External Relationships

State Institute Coaches, State Coaches, WA Club Coaches, SIS/SAS Support Services Staff, Consultant Medical Providers

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Degree
  • National Police Clearance / Western Australian Working with Children’s
    Check
  • First Aid & CPR certificate

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of best practice in High Performance Systems and Structures
  • Knowledge in the demands on athletes and coaches within international sport environment
  • Knowledge of International, National, State Sporting landscapes
  • Knowledge of key High Performance Principles to achieve high performing outcomes
  • Knowledge of High Performance Daily Training Environment (DTE)
  • Knowledge of financial accounting and budgeting systems (MYOB)

Skills and Abilities

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • High Level of planning and organisation
  • Excellent liaison, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to develop relationships with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work autonomously without supervision, and collaboratively within a high performing team, staff and volunteers
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities under pressure
  • Appreciation of the demands in a high performance environment
  • Financial and Accounting Systems (including MYOB)
  • High Level MS Office and Mac Operating System experience

Experience

  • Experience working in High Performance (HP) Program / High Performing Business environments
  • Experience in preparing and reporting to operational budgets
  • Experience coordinating and delivering operational plans
  • Proven experience demonstrating innovation, energy and enthusiasm across all areas of an High Performing operation
  • Strong Collaborative and inclusive approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated planning and administration skills
